Bio
Dr Raymond Seet is a Senior Consultant at the Division of Neurology at the National University Hospital, and holds the academic rank of Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. After completing his undergraduate and postgraduate training in Singapore, he completed his advanced fellowship in stroke and neurocritical care at the Mayo Clinic, Rochester. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP, Edinburgh) and the Academy of Medicine of Singapore (FAMS), and Senior Clinician Scientist with the National Medical Research Council, Singapore.

Dr Seet is present Chairman of the Chapter of Neurologists, Academy of Medicine, Singapore, President of the Clinical Neurosciences Society, Chairman of the Domain-Specific Review Board and Deputy Director of the Healthy Longevity Research Programme at the National University of Singapore. Dr Seet serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Annals of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, and Assistant Editor of Stroke.

Stroke Prevention in Singapore and Asia: The Road Ahead
Abstract
The incidence of stroke has risen considerably in Asia, driven by a confluence of risk factors especially an ageing population and a high prevalence of diabetes mellitus. Stroke prevention entails a multipronged approach involving a healthy lifestyle and early management of modifiable risk factors. This talk will briefly describe existing prevention strategies, novel methods of identifying high-risk individuals for early intervention, and their potential challenges.
